Anai Kothari, MD MS FSSO FACS

Biography

Dr. Kothari is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery and a member of the Collaborative for Healthcare Delivery Science at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  Dr. Kothari completed his General Surgery training at Loyola University Medical Center where he also earned a Master’s degree in Epidemiology. This was followed by a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.  Dr. Kothari's clinical expertise is the surgical treatment of upper gastrointestinal cancer and advanced cancers of the GI tract. 

He leads the AN.AI Lab (Accerlating iNsight. Augmented Intelligence) with a primary focus on improving cancer care delivery through precision and personalized medicine. This includes: (1) Applying machine learning and predictive analytics to existing real world data to answer high impact questions in oncology; (2) Developing tools to better leverage electronic health data; (3) Improving clinical and surgical care through the application of digital health, therapeutic virtual reality, and telemedicine.
