Biography

Claire Verhagen is a first-year medical student with strong interests in oncology and pediatrics. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021 with a degree in Genetics and Genomics, where her undergraduate research focused on exploring novel antineoplastic agents, fueling her passion for innovative cancer treatments.

After graduation, Claire worked as a clinical research coordinator in phase I oncology trials, gaining hands-on experience in early-stage cancer therapies. During this time, she developed a deep interest in the clinical trial process, which she hopes to integrate into her future career as a physician.

Now in medical school, Claire continues to explore her passion for oncology while considering the field of pediatrics. As her interests evolve, she remains dedicated to advancing clinical research, envisioning a future where artificial intelligence can streamline and optimize patient care and treatment protocols. With a commitment to innovative solutions and a deep love for research, Claire is excited to build a career that bridges medicine and technology.
