Seminars
AN.ai lab, in collaboration with the Bud and Sue Selig Hub for Surgical Data Science, hosts leaders in the data science and medical fields to give a hybrid seminar on their topic(s) of expertise in relation to some of the research projects we are currently working on. This experience allows participants to ask questions, gain insight into their research, and of course, learn something new.

Sarah Kerns, PhD, MPH
Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin
Dr. Sarah Kerns gave a seminar titled "GWAS: Prostate Cancer Radiotherapy". Dr. Kerns work in the Department of Radiation Oncology focuses on genetic and other host factors that predispose patients to the development of adverse reactions to cancer therapy, primarily radiotherapy. As such, this work is important for identifying novel targets for the prevention of side effects to radiation and developing risk prediction models to personalize cancer treatment for each and every patient.
