Dr Banerjee is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics, in the Institute for Health and Equity. He obtained his PhD from Duke University in 2013 and then was a research scientist at Amazon, before joining the Medical College of Wisconsin.

His research focus includes methods for complex and correlated data. He has led several high impact projects investigating interpretable machine learning, exploring bias at source and hierarchical model comparisons. He also works in developing multilevel Bayesian machine learning models. His research has received several awards, including a notable paper award from the top rated AISTATS conference, as well as several best paper and abstract awards.
