Laura McConnell was an undergraduate researcher in AN.ai Lab and is a biochemistry student at Carroll University. She does not have previous research experience, but is interested in learning how to improve surgical outcomes across different demographics. She hopes to pursue medical school once she finishes her undergraduate degree. 

Laura's research was in the Department of Surgical Oncology. There, she studied post-surgical anticoagulation and its' effects on post-surgical outcomes in oncology patients. Alongside her primary research, Laura has interest in large language models and how they can effectively be utilized in medicine.
