Taylor Jaraczewski, MD MS

Biography

 Dr. Jaraczewski is a surgery resident in the Department of General Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also holds titles as the inaugural global surgery research fellow at the Medical College of Wisconsin, the second fellow of the American College of Surgeons' Health and Outreach Program for Equity (H.O.P.E.) in global surgery and a resident physician researcher in the AN.AI Lab. A Gurnee, IL native, he earned his undergraduate and master's degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as a master's degree in global health equity from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his medical education at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Jaraczewski's research focuses on utilizing machine learning, artificial intelligence, and mixed methods approaches to enhance surgical quality and access in resource constrained settings. He is the PI on a project that focuses on surgical data collection and utilization in Ethiopia as well as Co-I on a project for optimizing surgical care for uninsured patients in Milwaukee. With multiple publications and grants in these areas, he plans to pursue a fellowship in surgical oncology, with a long-term goal of advancing surgical and oncologic care for patients regardless of socioeconomic or geographic barriers.
